Ready for Christmas Cards

Covered an old bulletin board with Christmas wrapping paper for a fun, festive way to display our Christmas cards we receive from family & friends...

Easy to make craft!

This little project idea started when I came across this fabric, which was on sale at my local Wal-Mart. I really liked the color!  From there I picked up these other items (ribbon, embellishments & Liquid Stitch). When I got home I measured out what I needed and realized I had exactly enough material to cover both my night stands and the dresser.  I set-up my ironing board right there in my master-bedroom to serve as my workstation.

Using a pair of scissors I cut out the fabric and used the Liquid Stitch (fabric glue) to adhere the ribbon & embellishments. Here's the runner for the top of the dresser & night stands, which now protects the furniture from being scratched.Such an easy project for less than $10!

Do you have spare change weighing down your purse or pockets? Donate it! You're helping a good cause & keeping your purse organized, too.

Help keep your car clean by throwing away trash, shaking out car mats, and brush away crumbs next time you're at the gas pump. Think about it...you're just standing there while your car is guzzling up the gas, so why not take advantage of those 5 minutes and clean out the car. Usually there's a trash can close by so you don't even have to leave your car!

Awesome Turkey Chili with a Southwest Kick

What you'll need:
  • 1 package of ground turkey (16 oz.)
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 1 packet of Chili-O spices
  • 2 cans of Campbell's Tomato soup
  • 1 can each: black beans, kernel corn (drained) & kidney beans
  • Assorted spices to your taste & liking: red pepper flakes, cumin, brown sugar, salt & pepper, garlic, chili powder
Cook turkey & diced onion together in pan with some olive oil. Don't drain and transfer to crock pot and add the rest of the ingredients, stirring together well.  Add as much of the various spices to suite your taste. Cook in crock pot on high for approximately three hours - stirring occassionally.  Serve with a side of corn bread and top with shredded cheese, sour cream & crackers.  This should be enough to feed 4-6 people.

Tile coasters

Pinned Image

Purchase tiles at Home Depot (four for less than $1), then paint "Mod-Podge" on top of the tiles, apply scrapbook paper, then paint another thin layer over the paper, then allow 30 minutes to dry.

Easy way to cook bacon...

Pinned ImageLay the bacon strips on a cookie sheet lined with foil (make sure the cookie sheet has edges to avoid grease dripping off the pan).  Bake in the oven at 375 degrees for approximately 20 minutes.  When done lay on paper-towel lined plate, then serve immediately.

Bag it!

Repurpose an empty cleaning-wipes container to hold those plastic bags: I didn't even bother removing the lable off the container, just recover with scrapbook paper (cut to size), then I "mod-podged" the paper over the label. Allow a few minutes to dry then apply stickers for a fun touch. Now those plastic bags are always on-hand in this cute container and easy to store under the sink, cabinet or take with you in the car.
