A 'lil of this & that

My storage cabinet used to be cluttered & disorganized. I couldn't stand it anymore, so I drug everything out. First, I threw away what had already expired or dried-up. Then I sorted the items into cleaning supplies, paint & art supplies, and containers & pitchers. Once I realized how exactly what I had left, I then determined how much space to allow for these items. In no time I had organized the shelves into a user-friendly space, where I can easily grab-and-go!

Tips:
  • Group like items together: floor cleaning products, bathroom cleaning products, etc.
  • Stack empty containers to save space
  • Store lids in a separate basket
  • Put the cleaning supplies on the highest shelf away from little hands
  • Put the kid-friendly supplies on the lowest shelf for easy access

Laundry Room

Most homes have a designated space for doing the laundry...it may be small & cramped or, if your fortunate, a huge area with all the items you need. My home contains a small room with just enough of an area for me to get the clothes clean! I've made the most of this space by installing shelves.

I keep the laundry soap & fabric-softner close-by, as well as a small trash can. As I'm pulling out the warm, dry clothes from the dryer, I wipe off the lint screen with the used dryer sheet, then throw away. Easy.

I can store other miscellaneous items on the shelf, such as cleaning products, toilet paper & paper towels, pet supplies, etc. Another space-saver is to install an iron & board wall hanging unit. I don't iron often but when I need to use this, it's conveniently located.
